The Strand Arcade was built in 1892 and is the only Victorian-era arcade still standing in Sydney in its original condition.

Illegal design was asked to design the invitations and promotional material for two key events hosted by the Strand Arcade each year: Evening with Our Designers and Vogue’s Fashion Night Out. With the help of The Strand Arcade’s public relations firm 6dc, we designed a series of invitations, printed booklets and A-frames to help guide visitors through each events’ unique experience.

More recently, illegal has designed competition posters for the Victoria Buckley Jewellery competition, which is on now. To enter, go here.

Illegal design was approached by Finger Tips to design the identity, website, marketing material and a small ad campaign for a brand new concept: delivering professional horse racing tips to people’s mobile devices via an easy-to-use Web App.

The client is able to update the App via a custom built content management system developed by Idealian. Finger Tips uses their facebook page and website’s blog to alert customers to horse scratchings, tip availability and race results.

The Finger Tips website was developed in WordPress using the Thesis theme for superior SEO (like this website!)

Cabiria is a new bar in Brisbane from the people that bought you Peasant,  the Best Restaurant 2011 winner at the Restaurant and Catering awards.

illegal designed the Cabiria logo, menus and a special HTML email invitation for the launch. Design is ongoing.

Well it was about time that last website came down and finally it has. It seems that you only get 5 years out of websites at a maximum before staleness sets in. We pushed the envelope with our last one that’s for sure.

I guess the vibe we’re going for is Gothic/surreal. It could equally be inspired by Star Trek and Planet of the Apes (the original). Anyway it is a work in progress so in the coming months we will be adding an equally bizarre footer, cleaning up some of the typography, and most importantly adding some samples of our latest projects on this blog.
